Seven Mays ago, our Norwich garden was graced by a singing Firecrest for a day. On the last day of April this year, the very same apple tree and conifer were being used by a singing Firecrest for two hours in the evening. It's tempting to think that they were one and the same bird, but seven-plus years' lifespan seems very unlikely in such a tiny bird. What a beauty. What a garden bird.
